We are proudly sponsoring the Best Accessible Spa Award in the Blue Badge Access Awards 2023!
The Blue Badge Access Awards – the only dedicated global award scheme promoting stylish accessibility across hotels, restaurants and other venues – is now open. Chair of judges, Fiona Jarvis, is encouraging hospitality industry bosses, architects and designers, worldwide, to consider ways in which they can address the current and future needs of disabled people and of course help them dispose of their $13TR spend (global fig).
“These are the most testing times that anyone, in the hospitality industry & beyond, will have ever experienced. However I urge owners, managers, designers, architects, developers to consider how you can improve accessibility within your establishment. And, of course, for those that have already addressed accessibility imaginatively and thoughtfully the Blue Badge Access Awards will give recognition to your efforts”.
“Guarantee Laundries has announced ambitious growth plans for the future of the business as it invests for expansion and fulfils its vision to be the first B Corp laundry in the UK. Guarantee Laundries has started out on a three year £1m investment programme to increase capacity at its large 40,000sq.ft. facility in Dorset.”
“The move allows us to take in extra work from our current hotels and new hotels who are asking to join us. We hope with this increased focus and investment programme we will maintain our reputation which enabled us to win back-to-back industry awards for customer service. Most importantly it will further enhance our reliability and value for our current customers who have been so supportive through the pandemic,” said Guarantee’s managing director Faith Foote, pictured above with CEO Stuart Harris.”
We are pleased to announce exciting growth plans for the future of Guarantee Laundries as it invests for expansion and fulfils its vision to be the first B Corp laundry in the country. B Corp is a global movement that represents a force for good; conscious decisions are made to improve social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency. B Corp is to business what Fair Trade is to coffee.
Guarantee Laundries is very proud to supply the leading hotels in the South of England. We have worked very hard to carve out our niche in supplying the best commercial linen and towelling, which we launder to the highest possible standard for the 5*plus market. As everyone in the industry knows, it is impossible to get everything right all the time, especially through the dark covid times; however we always put quality and customer service before everything. The value this provides our customers, in saving precious housekeeping time, is demonstrated by the fact that we have serviced most of our customers for many, many, years.
We have taken bold strategic decisions over the last two years. Redrawing our geographical area, reducing the number of customer contracts, and consolidating our business to both facilitate our survival of the terrible financial consequences of the pandemic and to allow us to concentrate all our efforts on what we do best. Even though our customers by number have reduced from the start of 2020, we still have the majority of our turnover value.
We have started out on a three year £1m investment programme to increase capacity at our large 40,000sq.ft. facility in Dorset, allowing us to take in extra work from our current hotels and new hotels who are asking to join us. We hope with this increased focus and investment programme we will maintain our reputation which enabled us to win back-to-back industry awards for customer service. Most importantly it will further enhance our reliability and value for our current customers who have been so supportive through the pandemic.
We are pleased to announce that we have started our B CORP journey, watch this space for regular updates on our progress.

Back in 2020, our Managing Director, Faith, pledged to run in the London Marathon to raise funds for the wonderful St Margaret’s Hospice.
“St Margaret’s Hospice are a fantastic charity supporting so many local people through very difficult times, and they have a particularly special meaning in my heart being there at the end for both my own father and my father in-law.”
This event was unfortunately delayed to due to COVID. One year later on the 3rd October 2021, the London Marathon was allowed to proceed.
Faith completed the marathon in 4 hours and 33 minutes, raising over £3,000 in the process for St Margaret’s Hospice.
“Thank you to everyone that sponsored me in aid of St. Margaret’s Somerset Hospice, we raised over £3,000 for an amazing cause. Very relieved to complete the marathon in 4 hours and 33 minutes!”
Whatley Manor in Wiltshire received the Sustainable Business Award at the 2021 Catey Awards, which took place on Tuesday 7 September. The annual awards ceremony, which had been a virtual event during last year’s lockdown, took place at the J W Marriott Grosvenor House London on Park Lane.
Sue Williams, General Manager of Whatley Manor, accepted the award, which was sponsored by procurement consultants 4C Associates, recognising the operator that has adopted the most innovative practices to make sustainability an integral part of their business.
Along with several other criteria, the judging panel looked for businesses that had implemented and achieved an action plan for mitigating their impact on the environment; evidence of educating and involving employees in achieving those goals; as well as evidence of involving guests in their sustainability practices.
After collecting the award, Williams said: “I am so delighted to have accepted this award on behalf of the entire team at Whatley Manor. Sustainability is such an important subject globally, which makes this recognition even more special.”
During the Lockdown we’ve been working hard to make the best of these difficult times.
As part of our investment plans for the future, we are now thrilled to announce that two new gas dryers have been installed by JENSEN®.
- Low energy consumption
- High evaporation performance
- Low noise level for more operational safety
“Thanks to InfraCare, the infrared control, the drying process is optimized even further: Both the energy consumption and the drying time is reduced, since the linen temperature is the regulating variable and not the exhaust air temperature.”
These new dryers contain many new features and improvements helping us ensure the Guarantee quality, as well as minimising our impact on the environment.
“2020 started so well, then we were hit by COVID. Our market has taken an unprecedent thumping, for 3 months not one piece of laundry to wash!
As our business has shrunk, job losses have been inevitable. It is with great sadness that I have had to say goodbye to a number of our colleagues as we have closed our Corsham site and expanded our laundry in Dorset. This has enabled us to bring all our customers into one Guarantee site.
We are raring to go and will be ready and waiting for the return of all of our wonderful Hotels in July and beyond. Same company, same values with the same top-quality linen and 5-star service.”
Faith Foote, Managing Director
